Lue Vue
a.k.a. Luey
As a youth leader at HAFA, I want to help people not become homeless. I am 10 years old with the innocence of a two year old in my mother’s eyes. I am working on getting good grades so I can go anywhere I want. I had chips and noodles for breakfast this morning, but I am not what I eat. I am a really big deal because I am fat and have asthma. I get good test grades and I don’t want this to be used against me as a weakness, as others have wanted to beat me up. I don’t accept beating up others because they do wrong to you. I wish others would ask me where my family is from so I could tell them they are from Laos, although my oldest sister and brother is from Pennsylvania.
Yaa Yee a.k.a. Yee Yaa Yaa
I attend HAFA. I am 14 years old, currently don’t have any goals, didn’t have breakfast, and I am a really big deal because I am nice. I can share things about myself with others if they are close to me. I always thought different people ate certain things, but I’ve learned not to use that stereo-type against them. My favorite color is green.
Yeng Than
Yeng Than is a shy youth leader with profound
cultural values and interesting questions about
people, places, and things. His interest and ac
ceptance of his culture is vauable at his age, and
organizer Phoua recognizes his thoughts as l
essons she can also take into consideration as
an adult working with HAFA youth. Yeng Than is
always polite, happy to help, and willing to
learn.
